On May 9, 2010, Beijing Scitech Plaza, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and Excellent Media (Group) co-hosted a charity event in honor of Mother's Day. The event encouraged the participating children to show appreciation by giving big, warm hugs to their mothers. Donations raised from the event were given to charities which supported children and mothers in poverty and disaster affected regions.
